March 2008 and the Puerto del Carmen office receives an enquiry for bars for sale in the PDC area. This turned out to be the start of a great relationship between myself and The Weafer family from Dublin whose dream like so many others, is not only to live in the sun but to also run their own business.
After many emails, phone calls and months passing by I finally get to meet the Weafers, who arrived in Lanzarote to view some bars and it was time to finally put a face to a name. From the off they were totally honest with me and informed me that they wanted the dream, but without a house sale back in Dublin they were between the dream and reality.
We viewed many bars and the one that really caught their attention was "The Crafty Cow" bar in CC Montaña Tropical in the old town area of Puerto del Carmen. The bar had been very successfully run by The Longley family for the past five years and it matched everything the Weafers were looking for including good quality pub food and a "Live" music license.
After finding the right bar, they now needed a sale back home on their property which finally happened in 2009. The Weafers completed the sale on the 3rd July, ready for the summer season. They’ve just completed their first weekend at the bar and already they look as if they were made to do the job, they’ve got the thumbs up from all of the local customers, who’ve already warmed to this lovely family!
The Weafer family are here to make a success of the business, they know that hard work never hurt anybody, so with the help of all the family members they work shifts between them, to make sure the bar is open from morning till night. If you are in the Old Town area of Puerto del Carmen then don’t hesitate to call in to see Larry, Emily, Wendy, Donna and Jamie who will guarantee great quality food, drinks, service and above all a happy face!! From everyone at Estupendo, we wish them all the best for their future success.

Thanks for your comment.Peter and family are staying on the island and are simply having a well earned break after five years at the Crafty Cow.The new owners are The Weafer family and I am sure you will find the same friendly welcome and great quality food at the bar as they intend to simply run the bar in exactly the same way that Peter did making everyone welcome.I hope that you continue to dine at the bar and please support the new owners who are here to stay and to make everyone welcome at what has to be one of the best bars in Lanzarote!!

Would just like to say that the weafers are cousins of mine and myself and my girlfriend really really miss them. If they make everyone as welcome in the bar as they did in their house in dublin the punters will have a great time. I am looking forwad to visiting them soon (only if jamie doesnt wear his utd jersey....)and cant wait to have some of emilys lovely home cooked food again. Also lookin forward to taste larrys pint. I visited the pub last christmas and think the pub is lovely and the area and view was beautiful. I wish the Longley family the best of luck in the future as they treated us brilliantly when we were there.
