Marc and Sandy first contacted our Puerto Del Carmen office in June 2008 with the idea of buying a "Live music" bar in the Puerto del Carmen area of Lanzarote. In July after many emails Marc and Sandy arrived to have a good look at what was available and from our first meeting it was obvious that these were serious clients who knew exactly what they were looking for in a business. With years of business experience including the Canary islands and Scotland ranging from bars to a hotel this couple really did know instinctively what would be suitable and what wouldn't.

Marc and Sandy left to return to Scotland and although they had a favourite bar from the viewing trip they decided to take their time and do some more homework regarding this lovely island of Lanzarote. Whilst at home personal circumstances put the move on hold and after keeping in touch with regular property updates Marc and Sandy decided that they would now prefer a "Lifestyle" type business which gave them more opportunity to enjoy life in the sun.

With good quality businesses of this type being harder to find and more in demand they decided to come and view Café La Perla Rosa in Puerto Calero after simply seeing the photos on the website. It was September 2009 when Marc and Sandy arrived to view the café and to say that they were impressed was an understatement. This was an opportunity to take over a fully refurbished café bar in the exclusive area of Puerto Calero which offers the island’s designer boutiques, restaurants, café bars situated around the prestigious marina.

La Perla Rosa ticked all of the right boxes and in October they returned to sign for the business, with help from Veronica we found them a lovely long term rental property in Puerto Calero which was ideal being so close to the business. With the ink still wet on the lease it was time to source some local suppliers including cash and carry stores, printers and much more. With everything sourced and a fresh new menu Marc and Sandy were ready to open the doors for the first time in November.

Already the feedback we are hearing is fantastic with Marc taking care of the cooking with a first class range of tapas that offer everything you can imagine with spicy additions and curries to die for. Everything is freshly made and prepared on site and with the best coffee on the island its no surprise that already they are proving a huge success with both locals and tourists. Its very obvious Sandy has years of experience in customer care with nothing being too much trouble, this has helped to cement the foundations for future repeat business for them.

Marc said "After buying and selling businesses for the past 20 years we have a lot of experience dealing with estate agents which have not all been good. With Ian and Veronica we felt comfortable from day one and nothing has ever been too much trouble for them, we cannot thank them enough. Ian took the time to offer lots of helpful advice and constantly kept us up to date with new businesses that were available, when we received the details for Cafe La Perla Rosa we just knew we had to view it. Since starting we have been more than happy with many people returning and slowly but surely we are building up a great local trade as well as getting the tourists. Even after the sale completed we have been in constant contact with Ian who has always made time to help with anything and everything which has made the whole experience more like a friendship than work which is so refreshing in today's market".
