Next weekend sees the start of the carnival season in Lanzarote, the dates for this year are as follows, the full programme of events will be released closer to the dates:
Arrecife 5-17 February (carnaval parade Monday 15th and burial of the sardine 17th)
Puerto del Carmen 18 – 20 February (carnaval parade along “The Strip” Saturday 20th)
Costa Teguise 27 – 28 February (carnaval parade along Avda Islas Canarias Saturday 27th) The poster hasn’t been announced yet for Playa Blanca but it is usually on the same day at Haría which is the 4th - 7th March. Have you been to a carnival event in Lanzarote before'? If you’re planning to go to one this year please dress up and join in, you can buy the carnaval outfits from the local shops under €20 or improvise with a home made outfit. For costumes, accessories and body paint try shops such as El Fieston in Costa Teguise, Megacentro & the toy shop in Deiland Playa Honda or head for Arrecife. |
