Once we had helped Dolores and Guss to sell their previous bar "The Rose of Clare" in the Los Pocillos area of Puerto del Carmen it was time for this lively couple to downsize to something more relaxed. After seven years of running a large live music venue they wanted a small and easily manageable bar that could be run by just the two of them. With a knowledge of both the bar trade and the island it wasn't long before they found a small cafe bar in Matagorda called "Scrummys" that suited their needs, even if they needed to do some changes to the bar. Dolores and Guss wanted a small bar that could be turned into a "Snug" which in Ireland is a really small but cozy bar. The bar had a lovely terrace area overlooking the beach in Matagorda and the inside was just the right size to create the feeling of a snug and create a warm welcoming atmosphere for their customers. Dolores’s mums name was Peggy and it was soon decided that this bar was ideal for their new venture and it would be renamed "Peggy's Snug" in memory of Dolores's mother. The seller of the bar was back in the UK so the sale was a process of sending the legal documents back and too by air mail, once both the lawyer and asesoria were satisfied everything had been covered the sale could complete. For all of our clients this is our number one priority to make sure that all debts are paid, licenses are correct and in place and the new lease is legal so that you the buyer have total peace of mind. Since taking over the bar Dolores and Guss have worked non stop to change the bar around to suit their needs of a "Snug". The bar has already established itself as a place to enjoy good company, a friendly atmosphere and the odd cold beer or two to keep you going! With Guss providing the snacks including his famous "Home Made Spicy Burger" you cannot fail to enjoy your time in this lovely bar, especially with two of the islands most friendly bar owners. History has proven that nothing is too much trouble for Dolores and Guss, after many years of running successful bars in Lanzarote it looks like they have another winner on the cards. Dolores says" After working with Ian to sell the Rose of Clare bar for us we had no idea that we would be buying another bar! With Peggy's Snug it just suited our needs to downsize and we have seen the potential in the lovely Matagorda area. Both Ian and Veronica have always been there for us whenever we have needed help or advice and we cannot thank them enough. If you are looking to buy a business in the future then we can definitely recommend their services to anyone". If you are in Puerto Del Carmen then why not call into Peggy's Snug for a warm friendly atmosphere and a cold beer on their terrace overlooking the beach. They are situated on the first floor of Commercial Centre Matagorda and they are open from 12pm Midday till late.
