Clubs in Lanzarote

We get asked for ideas from newcomers to the island on how they can integrate and make friends with other residents. Apart from work and school, there are a number of organisations where you can help a good cause and meet new friends. Here are some of them to start you off:

Ladies Who Lunch

Not just restricted to the ladies, husbands and male partners are welcome at their coffee mornings, dinner dances, and events to raise money for charities.

Rotary Club
The Arrecife branch meet at the Hotel Lancelot (more recently the Gran Hotel) in Arrecife each Friday at 2pm. Telephone 928 805 099 for more information.

Bridge Club
A weekly tournament is held in Costa Teguise at the Beatriz Hotel each Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm. There is also a club in Arrecife at the Casino Club Nautico on a Wednesday at 7pm.

Lanzarote Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS)

Brownies
A new group has been formed in Playa Blanca as part of the British Guiding Association. Held at the Aurora community centre 16:30 - 18:00 each Tuesday. Contact Sally on 670 690 085 to volunteer or more information.

we are a irish/english couple moving over for 9 months with our 15 year old daughter who will be going to the colegio hispano britanio in Sept. I am a cellist(good) guitar/singer(sometimes good!) looking for opportunities to play/teach etc but primarily to meet people.We like all kinds of music/theatre etc and have a great social /family life here in Galway-would love opportunities to meet up so maybe playing a bit of music etc.Looking foreward to the break (especially from the rain!!)
