So once you have found the right locale and location....what do I have to do next? Well, firstly, a good agent or lawyer will negotiate a deal on the local for you and this can include a rent free period whilst you are setting the business up. Secondly a good Asesoría will help you with an engineer who can produce a Project which along with the license application to open/trade will be sent to the town hall along with the relevant documents which your Asesoría will prepare for you.
At ¡Estupendo! we do work closely with Asesoría’s, Lawyers and Engineers and we can offer a unique service to our customers. If you find the right locale in the right location but want to be 100% sure that you know all of your outgoing's first before signing any lease then we can help! For €250 we can instruct an Asesoría to give you a full hours consultation which includes all set up costs involved. This will also include a meeting with an Engineer at the premises to give a full report on what is going to be required under the current legislation. The Asesoría will then produce a final report with a list of all costs involved and you will then be sure that you have a sufficient budget available before committing to signing any lease. With ¡Estupendo! you will never be on your own, we will be with you 100% to introduce you to the right people and we will do our best to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
If you have a business idea and would like to see what locals are available to you in Playa Blanca then please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Playa Blanca Office now and lets see how we can help you to realize your dream! Playa Blanca Cricket Club is always on the lookout for talented new players, so if you live in the Yaiza area or are just visiting why not get involved. Meet new people and experience a game of cricket in 30 degree heat (there really is nothing quite like it). Pop into Gravity Bar in Playa Blanca (opposite the church) and ask for Martyn or Anthony who will be happy to provide more information.

Course Description - La Geria, located in the heart of Lanzarote between the towns of Mozaga and Yaiza, is the source of Malmsey, a robust sweet wine, known locally by the name of its grape, Malvasia. In the early 1700s, the valley was farmland, but in 1730 a six-year period of volcanic eruptions covered southern Lanzarote with thick layers of ash and lava. When farmers returned to their blackened fields, they quickly discovered a use for the tiny black cinders and developed a method of growing vines on volcanic slopes by surrounding each plant with picón (lava gravel) to trap the dew, and sheltering it with a zoco, a semicircle of stone walls. La Geria valley is today covered in a pattern of these round depressions and zocos, where visitors can sample and buy the wines from the local “bodegas”, and learn about their unusual history at a wine museum. Course description – 21.1 K - The start will be at Los Dolores Church in Mancha Blanca (TBC). The run course will take the participants on different types of surfaces through the vineyards in the La Geria region. In this area the runners will be offered free samples of the wine produced by the local “bodegas”. The finish line will be in La Geria district between ‘La Geria’ and ‘Rubicon’ vineyards. (TBC) Time limit: 4 hours Aid Station - There will be several aid stations supplying you with water and samples of the wine produced by the local “bodegas”. Puerto Del Carmen has got to try the fabulous new Italian restaurant “Mamma Carla” in the old town area of the resort. Chef Gregorio and his brother Pierlo are both clients of ¡Estupendo! and Gregorio has travelled the world bringing the best of Italian cooking to London, Bournemouth, Miami, Sarasota, Boston, Goa, Navarra and now Lanzarote. Gregorio loves to live by the sea which is what attracted him to Lanzarote and after two years, he has opened his own restaurant on Calle Juan Carlos just down from the Biosfera shopping centre. Gregorio isn’t the only Italian chef on the premises, the restaurant is named after his mother Carla and you’ll find her in the kitchen making her world renowned meat balls and other specialties. Then there is Daniele, the pizza chef who was trained at the Pizzaioli school in Rome and not forgetting Lorenzo for the front of house and Mounia for service with a smile.
Restaurant Mamma Carla in Puerto del Carmen really brings the tradition and passion of Italy to Lanzarote, you can enjoy the very best of Italian food and service but you don’t have to pay the price. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the chef that used to cook for the celebrities in London such as Princess Diana and Elton John. Mamma Carla is open Daily, Telephone: 928 515 732 for Reservations.

I first met Baofeng and Stefan Schmidt back in December 2010. They own a very successful Dive Centre in Puerto del Carmen and were looking for a 3 bedroom villa in the Playa Blanca area. From looking at our website they had a shortlist of potential properties and it didn't take them long to find their dream home.

Playa Blanca has established itself as a resort that offers visitors to Lanzarote a more relaxed option away from the more established resorts of Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise. With its excellent shopping, beaches, ferry port to Fuerteventura and a promenade to die for it really does have the hustle and bustle of a busy holiday resort without the feeling of being "too commercialized".
In Playa Blanca there are an abundance of great opportunities available in various locations including Marina Rubicon, Shopping Centre Rubicon, Faro Park, Las Coloradas, Papagayo Centre and, of course, Calle Limones (the main “high street”).
What costs can be incurred? This is one of the most common questions we get asked and it really is a "Million Dollar Question" that is impossible to answer as every business start up is totally different. For example recently we helped Mandy and Dominic to set up a "Bike Rental Business" that was fairly straightforward because the local had a previous license to trade as a shop and because they were not adding any electrics (Kitchen etc…) the costs were minimal because the old license and project could be simply transferred into their names. However, another client, Mary has just taken over a local that was trading as a shop and has turned it into a small coffee shop. Because she has to change the activity for the local the old project and license is null and void, Mary had to produce a new project and license application which also involves an upgrade of the electrics because she has added a kitchen and three phase electrics are required by law. The locale is approximately 50m2 in total which includes a terrace area and her ingoing costs just to open the doors to trade is going to be between €40,000 to €50,000.

21 K Run: A unique running event in the wine district of La Geria; Compete & sample the delicious local wines along the route in some of the planet’s most extraordinary scenery.
